The state Department of Transportation said all southbound lanes in the Barnegat Toll Plaza were closed as of 10 a.m. The crash was first reported at around 6:35 a.m.
A nearby traffic camera showed a large yellow garbage truck that crashed into the tollbooth. Crews were seen inspecting the truck that appeared to be wedged inside one of the plaza's lanes.
There was no word if anyone was injured or if any other vehicles were involved. Traffic was backed up for more than two miles as of 10 a.m.
